Please say this prayer before you start reading through this message.
Lord Jesus, open my eyes that I may understand deep and hidden things
concerning my situation and the spirits that hinder me. As you open my
eyes, cause the spirits that hindered me to be blind in Jesus name. Destroy
them by the fire of the Holy Ghost. Restore my wasted years to the glory
of your name in Jesus name.
But Elymas
the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking
to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Acts 13:8
If you have never risen to the pinnacle of your profession and suddenly nosedives to a position of no recognition, you may not understand what the topic in question. If you have never lost every thing in life including your friends, this message may mean little to you. When all your age mates have all married and you are still single, then you may have a feel of what it means to be hindered. When those who shouldn’t have talked to you are now approaching you to take you out just because you are not married or that you are married and have no children, then you may know a little about the pains of being hindered.
There are many people out there who are suffering and smiling. The same wicked spirits that are hindering them are also blind folding them from the truth. When you keep moving round a circle in life, you are being hindered. When you have what it takes to prosper and you are still begging bread, then you are hindered. When as a man you cannot do what other men do with without fainting, then the devil is at work in your life. Since you are not an accident but were created in the image of God, any thing short of breakthrough on the face of this earth should not be your portion.
HINDERING
SPIRITS: WHO THEY ARE
Hindering spirits are wicked spirits that stop men in destiny. They are
the spirits that cause set backs in businesses and general wellness of
persons, families and communities. These spirits turn away men from the
plan of God for them. They are cogs on the wheel of progress. They hindered
Apostle paul in 1 thesa. 2:18 and they still hinder men
today. It was this spirit that hindered the prayer of Daniel in Daniel
chapter 10. It was this hindering spirit that made the people of God to
go underground in the days of Ahab and his wicked son Ahaziah.
Hindering spirits
lock up people’s mind and cause fatigue, insomnia, and nervousness.
See 2 Cor. 4:4.
They cause sicknesses (Luke 13:16)
They cause accidents (Job 1:18-19)
They manipulate and deceive people (2Cor. 11:13 –14)
This was the spirit that was at work through Elymas to stop Paul and hinder the Deputy in Acts Chapter 13.
HINDERING
SPIRITS: HOW THEY MAY COME
They are usually subtle in the ways they work. They deceived Adam and
Eve and stopped them in destiny. When they work through a man like Elymas,
to hinder a woman, they come as harmless wolves, proposing marriages when
they need a hit and run kind of a thing. When they work through women
against a man, they pretend as if they are powerless, yet with their razor
in their hands to scrape and scrap their victims. Hindering spirits are
very dangerous.
During his
first missionary Journey as recorded in Acts of the Apostles chapter
13, Paul encountered this hindering spirit. A certain man desired
the blessings of the Lord through Paul and Barnabas. He believed in the
ministry of brother Paul and so invited them to minister to him. But how
unfortunate, the evil one had put systems in place to forestall the blessings
of the Lord. Each time the lord proposes to bless, the devil turns round
to stop the plan of God.
This deputy in Acts Chapter 13 did not know the reason
why Elymas visited. He may have thought that Elymas was there in his interest.
He may have seen Elymas as a good political adviser. He may have seen
him as a man of credible integrity who has good intentions after all his
name connotes wisdom. When hindering spirits knock, they paint themselves
as good spirits. If you are watching out for a creature that has ten heads
with each painted red or black before you know that a hindering spirit
is around, you may never see any.
Hindering spirits are pretenders. Elymas pretended to have the gift of prophecy. They may be taken to be Godly. Elymas was skilful in the arts of divination like most prophets in all kinds of prayer houses. He could tell people their fortunes. He was a conjurer, yet his target is to hinder and stop men. This is why you need to be wise. This is why you need to look before you leap.
A TIME
TO DECIDE
Like Apostle Paul, you have to open your eyes to the realities of hindering
spirits. The Lord spoke to me and said to me, teach, preach and pray for
people to be freed from hindering spirits and this is why this message
is coming your way. This is the time to decide to be delivered. Your freedom
cannot be negotiable.
Do you know
that it may be hindering spirits that may have stopped your business and
not poor economy. Most of the time opportunities knock at your door and
before you know it, it fizzles away. This cannot be God. It must be the
enemy.
Why is it that you never had it this bad until when you proposed to that
girl or to that man? Why is it that your problem increased only when you
started that building project? You may have given a gift to some one and
since then, it was like you gave away your fortunes. Hindering spirits
may be at work. Decide to come out of it.
